THE DEFENSE BASE ACT
Protection for Civilian Employees working on Military Bases both in the US and Abroad
The Defense Base Act, a part of the Longshore & Harbor Workers' Compensation Act, was created to provide protection for civilian employees working overseas on military bases or under contract with the U.S. Government. It covers these civilians in the case of injury or death in the course of their work. However, in some cases, injuries or death that occur outside the course of regular duties may be covered as well. If you are working for the US Goverment overseas, you may well find yourself injured, and you need to find an experienced attorney who is familiar with the ins and outs of this law.
Submitting a claim is both complicated and time-consuming, but any mistakes may bar you or a loved one from recovering or receiving care for your injury. It is critical that you find a law firm experienced with the Longshore & Harbor Workers' Compensation Act, and specifically in the Defense Base Act. The Law Offices of Morgan J. Gray have been working with these types of cases for more than twenty years, and has represented claimants from all over the United States and the World. Please contact us today.
